Yeah, that as actually one of my problems with it. Waaaay too much sex for a Doctor Who spinoff. But, then, the Sarah Jane Smith show was too much the other way for me. So...I guess I'll just stick with the Doctor.

What? There's sex in Torchwood? How was I not aware of this?

Fair amount of sex. Not a ton of nudity though you do get to see Rhys' butt a couple times in season 1.

Here's the thing I never noticed about season 1 until I watched it in 2 days:
The team was constantly at odds. Jack killed Suzie... twice. Jack nearly shot Yanto during the cyber woman episode. Yanto shot Owen. Owen shot Jack several times while the rest of the team basically cheered him on (though only Gwen knew he couldn't die). How is this a team?

All the changes are ok. They typewritter on the main control console was a bit out of place... and not in a kitchy sort of way. I think I like the giant barometer in the center. I actually have the most issues with the green sonic screwdriver.

I think Matt Smith is going to be a good Doctor.

I was hoping that when the Sonic Screwdriver kept malfunctioning all episode that we would get a return to the days of 3 & the beginning of 4 where it was used sparingly, not at all, and written out almost completely. Still, I don't mind the new green one. 9 had his own, 10 has his own, it's only fair 11 gets one.

I approve of the new guy. Bowtie and all.

They cut out too much to make room for commercials on BBC America. The first episode was and hour and 4 minutes which means a full 20 minutes will have to be cut to fit it into an hour (44 minute) broadcast here.

Yeah, I like him! I despise the bow tie and skinny pants, but he's.. kinda good. I'm excited to see him grow into the role.

That would be good. I think the average BBC-A episode gets 3 or 4 minutes cut to make room for commercials. That's much easier to deal with than 20.

The only legit place is the BBC through the iplayer, but it's restricted to UK ip addresses and I haven't found a proxy that's fast enough to stream through.

They really should just let non-UK citizens pay the £140 license fee, but they don't.

I've now watched the first episode (of series 5) and the complementing episode of Doctor Who Confidential twice. I think it's clear that Steven Moffett has a different (if only slightly skewed) direction in mind for the Doctor. I'm very much looking forward to the next episode.

I hope we get some clues into what Amy was doing during those 2 years from when the Doctor saved earth to when he showed up again. She went from having a "sort of" boyfriend to being ready to walk down the isle.

The character of Rory (Amy's boyfriend... then fiance) is interesting. They point out in Confidential that he's the guy who's always been there but could never quite measure up. Nurse instead of Doctor. Funny looking but not as funny looking. That wort of thing.

first: Doctors & Companions in LEGO

Now, what two years? Did I miss a thing? Is my brain broken? I'LL HAVE TO WATCH AGAIN OH NO!

I've never actually watched the confidentials. I should do that too.

The Confidentials are usually pretty good. You should defiantly watch the one entitled "The Last Allons-Y" about the making of the last David Tennant episode.

The missing 2 years: Tardis finishes it's regen. Doctor: "What have you got for me this time?" Steps inside, tardis disappears for a "short trip to the moon". Tardis reappears, Doctor says hi to Amy, she hits him and says it's been 2 years.

I'm just now able to jump back into Season 4. I will miss David Tennant. Just finished the 2-part "poison sky" episodes.
